These are the second challenge I did on Cloth Doll Artistry for this quarter. The theme was Steampunk Animals.
I had planned a different animal, but I had to do these guys because my time was running out to give the project the time it deserved. These guys are really neat though. They are from an online class I did with Lois Boncer. About 50% of the time I don’t get things done or even started in classes, but that doesn’t worry me.
Often classes don’t come back for a second run, so best to grab them at the time even if you can’t get to them right away. At some point you will for sure. Hate to say how long I’ve had this, but done it is.
At one point, I thought I had killed my bugs, but I think they were just exhausted from being being poked and prodded with needles, pipe cleaners and stuffing tools.
The next step was to wake them up, get them all Steampunked and send them on their way…. Grasshopper was fine with her gears, especially because she’s got a crown in a process.
Praying Mantis on the other hand isn’t concerned about crowns. He just wanted me to outfit him to make him even more cool that he already is. He was happy with the end result. At this point in time, they’re hanging around in my workroom.
Back to work on the next challenge…. come back soon.
Wonderful bugs. I guess they were just catching a snooze while they could.
