Humpty Dumpty

The first quarter challenges  at Cloth Doll Artistry are coming to an end and this was my doll for the Humpty Dumpty Faberge Egg.

I’ve been told he has a bit of an Irish look about him. I think that’s possible. He wasn’t content to sit on a wall given what his ancestors went through doing that, so he’s decided that he’s a stay on your feet kind of egg.

The basic doll is a design by Kathleen Race. The costuming from the shoes to the hat are my own ideas. He did have a pancake face in the basic pattern, but I decided on the inset eyes. He’s a dapper looking guy and now he’s off for his morning walk of course with walking stick in hand to keep his balance. Maybe he’ll find a Mrs. Dumpty. Hmmm, would she want the name of Mrs. Dumpty. ???
