Christmas Wreath

Today was a very wet, somewhat windy and very grey day and cold. But what better day to go and do something that takes your mind off the weather and spend the time with about 20 total strangers.  Make something from the things that Mother Nature supplies and you have a pretty wreath for you door.  My friend Maria and I went to Russell Nursery today and made Christmas Wreaths.

It was a lot of fun. We have so many varieties of greens and berries etc. around here, it’s easy to find things for dressing them up. They had one room set up that they called the Buffet Room, where you could go after you got the basis of the wreath done and get all the rest of the trimmings like berries, seed pods and little branches that have been sprayed gold and silver, and all manner of pretties to choose from. It’s on my door and according to them, it could be there for a while. They sprayed a natural spray on them (something that is derived from pine trees) and it supposed to hold in the moisture and maintain the greenery for much longer…

Here it is. Disregard the white spot in the center of the wreath, that’s just the flash of the camera doing that. And yes, my door is celery green. It seemed like a good idea at the time and I still like it….
