The 3rd quarter challenges are being posted now on CDA. There are 3 studios to be heard from, but so far things are looking like a lot of fun. All the details can be found over on the CDA site.
In the Cloth Doll Studio the challenge is going to be Clothes Pin Art. I have Jessica Hamilton’s Clothes Pin Art Doll class to use for this challenge. Have a look here if you haven’t already seen it. Jessica’s little dolls are just the cutest things.
The Vintage Studio is having a Gourd challenge. Paint any kind of Gourd you want with a summer theme. Might be a bit harder, since our weather is having a hard time gearing up to summer.
In the Prim Doll Studio it’s Halloween in July and a pattern will be generously provided by Karen Neiforth, of R&K Creations, to be used for this challenge.
and the other studio that has posted their challenge is in the Crafts Studio. The challenge will be to make a bag, any bag, any size, any style.
There will be news from the Art Doll, Pin Doll and Soft Animal Studio soon. These challenges run from July 1st – September 20th, so lots of time to create your treasures. If you’re not a member of CDA yet, it’s very affordable to join, only $12 a year. You don’t have to be actively participating, but the more you do, the more you’ll get to meet others who share your interests. The challenges are just that, do the ones that interest you but more importantly, each time you do them, your skills improve and with that, you’ll find yourself coming up with tons of new ideas for other projects.
It’s a great way to get motivated and stretch your creative ideas as far as you can. There are no right and wrong results, it’s all about joining in the fun. So get your thinking caps on and come on over to CDA.
