Pillows

Last weekend I made up these pillows for the fabric shop in town. Andrea wanted something Christmassy looking for the bench at the front door. We went through some flannels she has and I decided to use these. Andrea's store, Fabric Traders, has a slightly different concept. You can find new fabrics notions books and more, but the main focus of her store is taking trades on fabrics. She will take your unused fabrics and give you store credit. So these pillows are from fabric that was traded and we decided to show what could be made and that it didn't have to be brand new fabrics....use what you have !!!

Have a look at her new site when you have a free moment. In the meantime, here are the pillows. They are both the same colours, but by simply reversing the colours and squares I was able to use up all but a small handful of strips to make these. The scraps I will try and make up a couple of little door hanger sachets to go with the pillows and that leaves no leftovers, a great way to make every bit of fabric count...

For anyone wanting to make some pillows, I used .5 of a meter of each of the blue and red teddies and 1 meter of the plaid. They measure 16" square, so you just need to practice your math skills to work out what you need to each pillow. The squares are 6" square. I also used 5 matching buttons and trims for each and 2 co ordinating buttons from the other pillow.
