Christmas Wreath and Stocking

I made this set using a pattern from purlsoho.com. I love this so much and I think I will make at least a wreath for our home, maybe not this year. ;o~

I love the grey tone they’ve used on their website. I think it would look amazing in any colour almost. This set is traditional red, and have chosen to use two shades of that colour.

In the centers of some flowers are beads and sequins. Instead of using a fusible backing on the flowers they say to stiffen, I chose to use a heavy spray starch. I gave them a really heavy spray on both sides, made sure they were nice and flat, then left them overnight to dry. You can still easily sew embellishments in the center even after spraying.

I lined the stocking with a Christmas print. I don’t know if it even says to do that in the instructions, I just went ahead and did that, as I like the polished look it gives when stockings are lined. So here you go. It’s available at LaLoca Fair Trade on Beacon Ave. Sidney, for you locals. ;o)
