Today I have some Christmas stockings to show you. These are just the first batch of 3. i will post more in a couple of days. These are once again designs by Cathy Pendleton of Cheswick Company.
I’ve lined mine and was very happy that some fabric that was gifted to me this summer came in handy for that purpose. I generally only buy fat quarters for my doll making, so anything larger I don’t have a lot of. These three stockings are lined with those gifted fabrics.
They worked out perfectly for this project. Faux whale bubbles in the first stocking, faux Christmas baubles in the second and a plaid for a more masculine appeal. As it turns out, the first and third one have already gone to new homes. A friend who thought it was time to get some collectible stockings for her and hubby, rather than the inexpensive ones found during the holiday season.
Since they are like us, and don’t buy Christmas gifts for each other, they would rather just do simple things like silly stocking stuffers. We save the money for things we really like, which is to use it for a nice dinner out where we wouldn’t go often. Seems like a good choice and a chance to make new memories for Christmas and just simply have a night of good food and company, let someone else cook and clean up, and just generally relax after all the hard work leading up to the holidays.
