Does your mind wander when you are doing repetitive tasks.?? You know what to do and how many to do and after a while your mind just goes to other places and the rest of you just keeps working.
I was working on the heads for my current set of ornaments, and all the while, all I kept thinking was “step by step, inch by inch”, repeat repeat repeat. Over and over, until finally I just started thinking about other things. I had heard that step by step inch by inch before and couldn’t stand it anymore. I had to know where that came from.and for some unknown reason, the Three Stooges kept coming into my mind, and then the penny dropped.
For you young ones, pre boomer era, you may not remember the Three Stooges, but if you do you will surely remember this clip. It has absolutely nothing what so ever to do with what I was doing, but the chant did. I hope this gives you a bit of a giggle and don’t blame me if you end up clicking on other links to see more..
Now that you’ve been entertained, this is what I got done over the last couple of days. Doesn’t seem like much I know, but, it’s surprizing how much detail there is to make little heads. I guess I can cut myself a little slack. There are 24 of them, which means besides all the heads having to be sewn together and stuff, there are 24 little noses to add a little sculpting to, 24 little mouths to draw on, and finally, 48 little eyes to sew in…. All in a days work….
Working on armature now, 24 of those too… ;o~ …more to show you soon….
Don’t they look happy, all chatting up a storm I’m sure.
You are a very patient woman, don't think I'd have the fortitude to make 24 little heads all the same! Can't wait to see how they come together.
