Making a List Santa

This is the last of the Santa’s I made. Today was decorating the shop day. This is Making a List Santa by Sparkles and Spirit. The difference in my design is how the list is hanging. I thought I would be brilliant and use parchment paper to give it that more authentic vintage kind of look.

Well, that was a bust, kind of. Do you ever use parchment paper? If not, you wouldn’t know that nothing sticks to parchment paper, not even glue….. So this morning as I was getting my things together to go to the shop, I saw this long piece of dried glue hanging off the paper, ooops. That’s when I had to make a quick decision, so I decided to roll up the paper like a scroll, tucked it under his arm and stitched his hand to hold it in place. I had to stitch his hand to his waist, because even though the glue didn’t stick to the paper, it definitely did stick to his hand….oooops again, and that was the only way to conceal it.

Here he is in all his cuteness… The lady that bought him, said she liked his butt… lol Not sure how to take that, but if she likes him, that’s all that matters..

  3. He's adorable Romona, so glad he has a home! And yep about the parchment paper, thought I could use it in place of velum but no go! You can't write on it or stamp on it or glue it :O( Great solution to your dilemma though, it looks great tucked under his arm! Deb
