Books again!

Yes I admit it, I'm a book junkie. What can I say, I love books. I always have. I also live in a town that has about 7 book stores and for a small town there's a lot of reading going on. My latest acquisition is the last of the series that Tone Finnanger has out. I couldn't stand not having it since her other three books are so good, I just keep picking them up and looking and reading over the instructions. Her designs are so completely simple in their appearance but so visually appealing. This is the 4th book based on spring time. (and yes Colleen, this rests squarely on you for showing that first book)

The next book is for those of you who are quilters/needleworkers. It's all connected isn't it. We take one type of handwork, and use in another.  This book is for all of us who are going to try and those of us who have done Crazy Quilting. It's pretty much a bible on the topic. I love that it has the spiral back so you can lay it flat to work from. It's just another of those books that you just lay on the coffee table and keep picking up and learning a new stitch. It's not a big book (in size) but it is solidly packed with information.

And the last book for today was a complete fluke that I spotted it. I often just go to Amazon.ca to browse and this one appeared and it's great. The title is "A Perfect World in Ribbon Embroidery and Stumpwork". The book takes you through creating 17 embroidered panels of florals and creatures, even shows how to create stumpwork ants...how cool is that. There are several creatures like mice butterflies bees and more along with different florals for each panel. There is just to much to describe in this book. It's a must have for those of you who love to embroider or want to learn. Might be a bit tricky for a beginner, but certainly it is a book to aspire to. Enjoy.

  1. Yeah, but you are the one who tempted me into buying the new Christmas one. So there, ha!

  2. Oh, I'm going to have to check that first one! I have a library of CQ books and SRE, but that first book looks like such fun!
