The Little Mermaid

I finished this last night. It was for a swap. The swap itself was a fat quarter of fabric. The challenge was to make a doll using the swap fabric and the embellishment that came with it. This little cutie is the first pattern for Judy Wellnitz . It's a very sweet pattern to make and the directions and tips are very well written. The swap fabric I received was just perfect. I don't think my pictures do it justice, but it's a perfect blue batik fabric, which was just right for a mermaids tail. The embellishment that came with it, was the fabric rose in her hands and in the center I've added a pearl bead as though she brought it from the ocean floor to show you and I added some green glitter around the edges to add some sparkle. The one other thing that makes this unique is that you can fit a business card between her chin and hands making a great gift for a friends business or your own.
