Not quite spring...

It's not quite spring yet, but the flowers and trees don't seem
to care about that. They are coming through the ground and
the trees are bursting out in bloom. With all the rain we've been having it's a wonder the bulbs in the ground haven't been washed away. My street is covered in blossom filled trees and it's such a pretty sight when the days are grey. The daffodils are exploding with colour now. Such a nice sight. I brought a small bouquet of buds into the house and by supper time, they were wide open and the fragrance is so sweet.

What nicer way is there to brighten up the house. These lovely flowers are struggling though to hold themselves up. Some of them tumble over from the weight of the rain, but mostly they're doing pretty well. I planted many many bulbs at the front last fall and they are starting to bloom now. The first to show are the narcissus and some smaller daffodils. The ones to the left are the King Alfreds. Here is the first of the narcissus.
Also coming up in my garden are the hyacinths. I have white, pink and blue. Here is a white one and the perfume is amazing. I can't bring them in the house as the fragrance is so overpowering, but I can enjoy it outside just as well. The last of the pictures for today is the heather. It's so pretty and adds that much needed ground colour while the later blooming plants are getting ready to put on their show later in the season. I hope my little show a spring colours has brightened up your day. If you're still covered with snow, hang in there..spring will come. If you're gasping from the heat, I wish you downpours of cool and refreshing rain to give you a reprieve. Enjoy and have a great day.
